Sometimes, you find the best stuff when you least expect it.

Case in point: while checking out a trackback link at Web 2.0 Announcer, I noticed a link for their new monitizer widget for Wordpress. How cool, I thought and so I clicked to check it out. This little beauty can be customized to display news and stories related to tags that you select, meaning that you can fine-tune the widget to meet the needs of your blog.

I know.. very cool, right?

And as I’m reading this, I notice a trackback link from Payment Blogger, highlighting not just this widget but some other useful plugins as well.

Now how’s that for an unexpected find?

Which just goes to show you how traffic really works. If you’re wondering why you need to bother with all those social bookmarking sites, here’s your reason why. I might not have ever made it to Payment Blogger if it hadn’t have been for their trackback link to Web 2.0 Announcer. And who’s to say when I would have visited Announcer if some wonderful person hadn’t have posted a trackback link to me?

The moral of this story?

Post often and post well. Link to your favorite sites and share those wonderful little web gems with the masses. In many cases, your trackbacks are as good as a comment and you’ve just created a link to your blog on a potentially well-read site.

And when it comes to generating traffic for your blog, the links definitely have it.
